St. Jude, Justice in talks in kickbacks case
St. Jude Medical and the Justice Department are in settlement talks over the company's alleged use of medical studies to pay kickbacks and boost product usage, the Wall Street Journal reports. The government said in early August it planned to intervene in a lawsuit brought by a former worker following a nearly five-year, industry-wide government probe into whether makers of pacemakers and defibrillators were making improper payments to doctors.
