The National Cancer Institute awarded a grant of $2.6 million to fund a clinical trial of Lightpoint Medical's molecular imaging technology to diagnose lymph node and gynecological cancers. The company says its fiberscope system detects microscopic cancer deposits, which results in a lower risk of recurrence or reoperation. "Lightpoint is honored to receive this grant," said David Tuch, Lightpoint's founder and CEO. "We look forward to undertaking clinical trials to demonstrate the efficacy for EnLight for intraoperative cancer detection." Release
