GE Healthcare ($GE) will slash about 10% of its workforce in Vermont, citing the need to make "tough decisions in the current economic climate." The Associated Press reports that the medical imaging/technology division of General Electric employed about 527 people in Burlington, VT, as of January. GE Healthcare became a presence in the state in 2005 when it bought IDC for $1.2 billion, the AP notes. Story
