With FDA's blessing, PhysioSonics looks to market brain monitor

PhysioSonics, a University of Washington spinout, snagged FDA clearance for its Presto 1000 Flow Monitor, and now the company is on the hunt for a commercial partner, Xconomy reports. The device allows physicians to automate brain blood flow monitoring of stroke patients, providing a continuous readout instead of the period snapshots generated by ultrasound transducers. PhysioSonics has raised a total of $22 million from investors and government sources, according to Xconomy, and it aims to get the device on the market next year. Report
