Startup nails $3.64M Series A for hemorrhage-control device

Medical device startup Innovative Trauma Care pulled in $3.64 million in a Series A funding round to ramp up commercialization plans for its ITClamp hemorrhage-control system. The company is developing trauma tools for use both by first responders and in military medicine on the front lines. A Health Canada approval is already in place, and a CE mark is likely by the end of 2012. FDA clearance is expected in 2013, the company said.
