ArthroCAD draws Series A for surgical device development

ArthroCAD nailed down the first part of a Series A funding round to help fuel development of a surgical device meant to improve outcomes for total hip arthroplasty procedures. The company isn't disclosing financial details other than to note that it has "secured commitments for additional funding" to complete the round. A number of investors took part, including Edgar D. Jannotta Jr., a former managing partner of the Chicago private equity firm GTCR. As part of the financing, he joins the board of ArthroCAD, which is based in Ayer, MA. Release
